  • ABOUT ME

I was introduced to yoga at an early age and practiced it throughout my teenage years. Yoga has remained a way of life for me. At this time my father was struggling with an aggressive cancer and our family committed to healthy eating which really helped him. I noticed how good I felt eating in this way. However, clean, simple eating remained a challenge because our culture promotes fast food and excesses. Many times I have experienced ridicule for wanting to eat healthy food!

In my twenties I started to work with a Homeopath, despite my good diet I suffered from a difficult skin condition. Homeopathy really inspired me, I could see how well it supported being well. I bought some books and a kit and have used it since then. Life has taken me on many twists and turns, I spent nearly 20 years teaching in a mainstream school.

In my spare time, I trained to become a yoga teacher in the early 2000's, first with the Sivananda Vedanta Centre and then with The Devon School of Yoga. I've been sharing my love of a Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga ever since. I am also a yoga therapist and a Yin yoga teacher.

My love of cooking and healthy eating led me to study naturopathic nutrition between 2014-2017 with The Natural Healthcare College.

During my Naturopathic training I went to India to study Ayurvedic nutrition and single herb therapy. While I was there I took more Yoga training and loved it.

After using Homeopathy for myself and my family for many years, I have recently taken a 2 year intensive training course with the Central College of Homeopathy and I have now set up a Homeopathy Practice.

In my spare time I love climbing mountains with the dog. I enjoy growing vegetables in the garden; cooking delicious healthy food; foraging; fermenting and preserving produce.

    YOGA REVIEWS

" Sally Ann is an incredible yoga teacher. She's the only yoga teacher I've been to that actually implements yogic traditions. Her knowledge is incredible and her classes are wonderful for strength and training the mind. I've learnt poses I've never seen or heard of (I've been doing yoga for 10 years) so this is something I LOVE highly recommend" Kelly

"Sally Ann is a master of her craft. It's very rare to come across a yoga teacher who practices authentically and traditionally. Sally Ann is just that. She connects with the lineage of yoga with the upmost respect for the practice and it's a joy to be in her classes." Amy

"Sally has an excellent way of addressing people in a class. Sally's tone of voice has a natural quality very well suited to yoga and relaxation, especially when it comes to yin yoga. I highly recommend trying Sally's classes. Very inclusive and considerate of your body's own ability". Tom

"I love Sally’s yoga class. She is methodical and patient. She gives straight forward and easy to follow instruction with gentle praise and encouragement. She helps to develop confidence in the practice always giving useful tips for health and wellness. She explains how and why certain poses improve strength and flexibility as well as taking care not to over extend and stretch. My practice with her has developed to suit, and my ability has improved which keeps the practice fresh and interesting. I cant recommend her highly enough. I started taking yoga classes with Sally about 6 years ago in a mixed age group of beginners ". Sharon

"I've been going to Sally's classes for 6 months now. I've made more progress in 6 months than I have in the last 5 years doing yoga in various different places around the Swansea Valley. I find Sally's classes the most authentic I've ever been to. I love that each class honours the tradition with a closing ceremony. Sally Thank you so much, Namaste". Matthew

MY PATHS TO BEING WELL ...

An opportunity to re-evaluate your lifestyle and make positive changes that really make a difference ...

    NATUROPATHIC NUTRITION

"Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food." Today there are so many different eating options and everybody is an expert. It is very difficult to discern what constitutes a healthy way of eating and supplements are a minefield!

I believe a good starting point is implementing some foundational principles to help create lasting success with preparing delicious food that supports good digestion and a healthier lifestyle. Once the foundations are in place we can build from there on an individual basis.

My experitse lies with digestive and hormonal health. I mostly integrate nutrition and herbs with homeopathy.

However, I do offer separate consultations in nutrition and I also offer group talks about nutrition and healthy living.

For more information; or to book an appointment please email.

Initial consultation fee £50 for up to 90 minutes follow ups £35 for 1 hour. Or book 3 sessions in advance for £110

    YOGA

"Yoga Citta vritti nirodah" Yoga, finding stillness through settling of the mind. Something I always come back to and try to encourage students to do.

The classes I teach always include focused breath work. Every posture is explained with careful guidance including how to enter and exit them. I use traditional Sanskrit terms for the names of the postures as I have been taught. Variations are offered within the postures which might include using blocks, bricks or straps. Classes always finish with a relaxation, savasana and a closing chant.

Through the practice I aim to support students in order to develop focus and stillness to the mind, to gently stretch and to build strength, always respecting individual anatomy.

I have been priviledged to learn with many acclaimed teachers. Some of my trainings include: Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre, The Devon school of Yoga, Ashtanga Saadhana Mysore, Ashtanga Yoga Bali Research Center, Yoga Beyond advanced Yin yoga. I have more than 1000 HRS Yoga teacher trainings behind me. I am registered as an experienced teacher with The Yoga Alliance Professionals. I am also a Yoga Therapist and offer one to one sessions to work on individual issues.

    HOMEOPATHY

Homeopathy is an alternative form of natural holistic medicine. It was discovered over 200 years ago by Samuel Hahnemann a German physician and has continued to be developed as a credible method of natural healing ever since.

Homeopathy treats the person not the disease. Homeopathy works with the vital force of the person, the energy or life force of the individual. In a similar way to Yoga with prana or Chinese medicine with chi.

As a Homeopath I work holistically to find the root cause of the disturbance in the body. Once this is found I look to find the best remedy or remedies that matches the person using the principle of like cures like.

What to Expect When Working with me

Prior to your initial appointment I will ask you to complete a health profile form and return it to me.

The initial appointment will take up to 90 minutes. During this time I will ask questions to establish the course of action. At the end of the appointment I will go over what I think will support you on your healing journey and I will create a personalised health plan for you. I will aim to get remedies to you as soon as possible.

Homeopathy does require a level of commitment from the client, as does nutrition and depending on your condition you may need to return over a number of months at the current session rate, please see below.

Homeopathy is not field medicine, if you come with a chronic condition that you may have had for a number of years, it may take a number of months or even years to rebalance the body and to fully heal. Part of the process is to enable you to become more independent about your health and to give you the tools to support your own healing process.

I work individually with people as outlined above. I have a particular interest in women and children's health.

Clinical work is supported by tutors at The Central College of Homeopathy. For further details or to book a FREE INITIAL CALL please email. Appointments are currently £50 for the initial consultation and £30 thereafter.
